Seagate Pocket Hard Drive
Hi All,

Does anyone know if you can break open a 5GB Seagate Pocket Hard Drive and use the microdrive in a 4700?

Many thanks in advance.
Chris.

Hi diverdhris. I don't know the exact answer to your question. It seems like some have used the hard drives from iTune/iPod like devices.

Sorry, but no. I tried but it has a USB board attached without a CFII case. I was able to return mine. Just buy the Seagate CF drive. It works great.

I pulled a 5 gigabyte Seagage St1 drive from a carbon rio. It works great. I don't know if you can still do it or not on the new models. Although you are talking about a different product (a pocket hard drive instead of a carbon rio) it sounds like it might be the same drive. however, there might be some protection on it, like it might not work if removed. I'd probably want to find out first if i were you.
