Granted I have only had mine for about 1 month and don't have a lot of software installed as of yet but I have used mine for about 4 hrs via my wireless router with no external power applied. This included streaming video/browsing and downloading. After all that I was only down to about 60% battery power. Hope this helps

I find that the backlight probably has the biggest impact on our battery life, watching an entire 2 hour movie over wifi with 2/3 backlight sets me back to 80% battery life, however if I set it to 3/3 backlight I end up with half of my battery left.

I find I get about 3-4 hours around the office with the screen brightness set at about 1/2...mostly used to check email, respond, etc while in meetings...surfing this forum when I'm bored in those meetings...

I also get about 3-4 hours with the standard 4700 battery. If I'm not using WiFi much, or if it's turned off, I get maybe 5-6 hours so the WiFi is not a power hog.

On the other hand, if you're using the WiFi to download and play streaming music, the power requirements of the speaker suck the life out of the batter in 2-3 hours. Oh, well.

Too bad somebody doesn't creat an ULTRA battery. I wouldn't mind lugging around a 4705 that is DOUBLE the thickness with the "Ultra" battery attached if it gave me an assload of battery time.
