Writing on the touch screen.
I use my pda for almost everything including writing down notes when im at school.

i got a program called calligrapher to write my notes. Is it bad to use my touch screen to write my notes down.

i know using a keyboard is the best way.

It's not bad at all. But I would strongly recommend that you use a screen protector. Search these forums and you can find some suggestions

The calligrapher is WAY better than the note program. its writes faster and it writes cleaner. I love it. You should try it.

I use the Notes program regularly, but I DON'T use the 'recognise' option any more - I was at a meeting, taking loads of important notes, & when a boring speech started I started to get bored, & then looked at the options in Notes in more detail; & then I asked myself "I wonder what this "recognise" option does?" & watched as my scruffy (but still legible to me) handwriting was turning into meaningless typed text! I spent a few days going round the others asking them to send me their notes on the meeting "just to confirm that we interpreted what was said the same way".

Notes - good in parts!

BTW, TMK, get a screen protector - well worth the money!

Which must be why Calligrapher has won the best handwriting software programme from PocketPC Mag (2004 win - HERE) for the past three years (at least).

Raider4700, the member is asking if the screen will be damaged by writing on it, not if you think he is stupid or not.

TMK - as others have said, get yourself a good quality screen protector to stop you from scratching the screen and you will be fine.

You would probably use calligrapher because the built in piece of junk does not work in True VGA mode

I dont think the gent is stupid, that is your misdiagnosed assumption, he implied he purchased a program to do what the 4700 already does, I replyed only to that instance, to scribble a few notes now and then, and buying another program when the 4700 already does that , albeit in a somewhat 1st grade manner of style and appearance, which is fine for the grocery list or some hot babes ph # , however what he did not imply or state was that he needed or used it for advanced functions like meeting minutes, or exam notes, homework, ect... I would probably find the 4700's note program impractical for that as well... no.. I was only reponding to his very basic statment that he got an expensive program to take notes... to which i repled , the 4700 already does.... if he ment that he HAD TRIED THE INTERNAL NOTES PROGRAM, FOUND IT UNACCECPTABLE FOR HIS USE, AND HAD TO GET A MORE EXPENSIVE PROGRAM TO MEET HIS NEEDS, THAT..ISNT WHAT HE SAID, I would have certianly AGREED with him that the internal prgm isnt the best note taker for advanced needs had that been what he said. My apologies for misunderstanding his inference.....
