Bluetooth GPS Settings
My hx4700 connects to a bluetooth gps through com8. Unfortunately after uninstalling TomTom navigator and then reinstalling it, I am no longer getting the option to connect to com8 in the settings. The port seems to have dissappeared. Anybody know how I can get it back without doing a hard reset?

I had a similar problem sometime ago, on my Ipaq 1940 / Fortuna clip-on BT combo (com8 not showing after TT3 install)
Looking at other forums, such as pocketgpsworld.com, I found the problem was down to TomTom GPS grabbing the Bluetooth stack.
If you search the above site, the advice usually boils down to partially uninstalling TomTom GPS (do it once & does not actually uninstall fully), to release the Bluetooth stack.
If you uninstall twice via remove programs, you will need to re-install TomTom GPS, but I suggest you find an earlier version - 2.06 or 2.07, as these do not affect the Bluetooth stack, are smaller in memory & storage space & work fine with TomTom 2 & 3.

Thanks GBH, that is all good advice. In the end I found that I had forgotten to reinstall a patch for using Tomtom with the ipaq. It was driving me mad but eventually I found the solution by searching pocketgpsworld like you suggested.
