Pocket informant version 2005 released: Upgrade for $14.94
Pocker Informat version 2005 was released. The upgrade is only $14.95..

Unfortunalty no word on the ability of version 2005 running from "IPAQ file" and not from main memory... I hate wasting memory

I've had PI version 5 installed in iPaq Filestore for a while now without a problem. I installed the 2005 upgrade and can't get the monthly voew to display correctly. The attached is all I get. Any suggestions?

Thanks RatBag, that worked. Never noticed the mag glass and negative sign before. Must be my eyesight.

Try hitting the "negative" magnifiying glass in the bottom right hand side of the screen.

PS: I have loaded into IFS and am using oz_VGA - this upgrade seems to work fine although I thought it was a bit slow initially.

Yeah, I was wondering the same also. I am using 5.6.1 and was wondering if someone can list any PRACTICAL features that are improved to make it worth the upgrade.

TIA!

I would say that it is not as to me it is not worth tying up the main memory to run it. I know that some people say that they run it in IFS, but I don't want to take the chance. The $14.95 or even the $29.95 is not an issue for me. My main concern is the memory. Man, I cannot wait until WM2005 where we can install these programs in ROM and not have to worry about this cr@p.

I am a big Agenda Fusion Fan for there last 3 major versions and over 4 different PPC's. I think the product is better than PI and has some more things going for it. I have it running from IFS and no problems..

Hi wware01. Both PI and AgendaFusion are great applications, both offering something for everybody.

PI will run in FileStore on devices other than the 4700/4705. Because an older version is supplied with the 4700 in ROM, if you want to upgrade to a newer version, you have to install it in RAM on those devices. It's not a WebIS/PI thing, it's how it's installed in the ROM by HP.

Just out of curiosity... why?

To put my question more succinctly: What are the requisite minimum files to place into RAM so that the built-in PI is not used, but the one installed to the IFS?

My supposition: There has to be a DLL or two, plus a LNK file that much point to the IFS where PI is installed, but yet still allow the handheld to see that PI in ROM is no longer the latest installed version.

Hi derekweb. That's a question that's been asked several times here and at WebIS's forums. Here's a link to a thread from several months ago: http://www.ipaqhq.com/forums/showthr...6940#post76940

I think Menneisyys also wrote a thread here on how to move some DLL's and which one's - You migth want to do a search on some of his posts.
