can a webserver run on an ipaq?
Anyone know if a web server can run on an ipaq? I'm aware of people trying to run linux on ipaq's but I'm not sure of their success. I'm interested in running apache on linux, although I'm also to know if there are any windows mobile based web servers. The primary purpose of the ipaq would be to serve pages locally from the hdd.

I got my old 3630 using Opie and again using GPE (www.handhelds.org) to run a web server - it made me laugh as it had the same ram/clock speed as a Sun Sparc i used ages ago!

I have tried using my old 5450 with linux (just as a laugh) but found that Familiar couldn't use the SD or builtin Bluetooth or Wireless properly. I will continue to use PPC2003SE for all real work linux is a pain in the rearend.

The Windows CE development SDK comes with a small but functional webserver.

The webserver just needs to be able to run perl cgi's. That's all. Either the standard windows environment works or a linux (opie) environment are fine. What is important is the perl/cgi-local web server interface. Any ideas?

I shall ask a simple question - Why do you need to do this????
I have done it but can't find a viable reason you would want to!
