Since the critical speaker update failed to install on my device (I encountered the same language error as others did), I tried to see if I could find a version on the Chinese(Taiwan) website, since my 4700 is Chinese.
I didn't, but I did find some other update that I didn't find on the US website. The Taiwanese website shows an update (
http://h50178.www5.hp.com/support/FA...cal_18689.html) that supposedly update the BT profile, so that 4700 would work with stereo headphones and generic bluetooth keyboard.
Has anyone else tried this update?
Btw, if you are going to try installing this, I strongly suggest that you do an
ipaq backup first, and to install it to the main memory. See below for the reason.
When I first tried, I installed it to the iPaq filestore, and not only did it not work (nothing new was added to the BT profile), it broke some applications (namely, MS voice command gave an error and quit). And when I tried to uninstall it, the "Remove Application" apps refused, saying it's a system update that cannot be removed. I ended up restoring from the last backup, deleted the dir from ipaq filestore, and tried again. Once I installed it to the main memory, everything was fine.
