PIM data in File store
I read somewhere in another site that th hx4705 has built in settings to store PIM data in the iPAQ file store instead of RAM. Can anyone teach me how to do this?

Thanks!

Haven't seen this with any PDA

You can however 'back-up' the PIM data to the filestore or external storage using i{aq backup - a programme included on your device.

There is an option in iPAQ Backup (pre-installed) or Sprite Backup (buy upgrade) named PIM Mirroring. You just select this option and it will automatically backup all you PIM data into the file store. Whenever you accidentally or intentionally hard reset your iPAQ, it will automatically restore all your PIM data back to your device even you did not restore any backup file. You still need to restore a backup file for all programs that you have in your backup file. It distinguish from the backup file is it automatically backup all your PIM data when soft reset, not at timely schedule of backup process that you have selected in your backup program.

That was the case with my old Sony NX-80. All of the PIM data was saved in non-volatile memory so that it was there even after a hard reset. I have not seen anything like this on any of my iPAQs however, after my descent to the dark side .

Yup. That's it. Thanks!
