As far as what caused the hard reset, it's difficult to say. Month's ago when I first got my device I had hard resets but it seemed like some of the software I was trying to install wasn't quite up to VGA or WM2003SE compatibility yet. I haven't had any problems since a week or two after getting everything set up. Others have had slightly loose batteries or have inadvertantly moved the battery lock switch and caused it to reset.
Hope that helps out.

Many thanks,
I was trawling the forum and found this reply so this might be the problem too
Hi,
the reason you get two shortcuts is that your restore replaced the program files as they were, and your install added a second.. so..its easy to remove the extra ones..
just go to file explorer > windows > start menu > programs > and delete the extra one .
now, as for your battery being drained all the way..there could be several causes for this.. and since it did recharge.. i suspect only a couple valid reasons exist...
first thing that comes to mind is that you had something running like media player , or the wi-fi or blootooth if you have them that just ran on , and on , and on.. and you didnt know it... probably overnight.. or..
your battery meter was being a bit cranky and was constantly showing you charged when it in fact was running down thru normal use.. they can do that sometimes..
or
your charger may not have been plugged in quite good enough... and you thought you had been charging..and were not..
the fact that it charged up agian indicates that the battery is in fact good, and the charging system is good.
if this continues to happen, I would replace the battery first. it could have an intemittent internal short.. that is aggravated by movment or bumping it..
good luck..
