I am having a problem with synchronising my calender to the PC. The main reason I bought the Ipaq was to take notes at customer meetings and have them transfer automatically to my PC on return to the office. I am finding that some appointments or set of appointments are not transferring the notes to my PC's outlook. The only way to access the meeting notes is to go back to the ipaq.

Do you mean calendar or notes?
Are you making the notes against an appointment in calendar or using the separate notes section of Outlook?
If you are using separate functions for appointments and notes have you got them both checked in Active Sync to synchronise?
