USB Charging Issues ...
Anybody else notice that the 4700 gets quite warm if you charge it with a USB cable (I'm using the Boxwave miniSync cable)? I don't have this issue if I use the standard power adaptor that came with the 4700.

I've also noticed that if I connect with the miniSync cable, charging is extremely slow -- doesn't seem to matter whether I have Slow Charge or Fast Charge Selected on the USB Charging TAB in the Power Setting screen.

Anybody know what the difference is supposed to be between Slow Charge or Fast Charge?

Gary

ok.. i have both batterys.. normal and heavy duty... and i have the hp external charger and the usb cradle, its normal for a battery to get warm when recharged, but only slightly warm, it also seems that usb charging is pretty slow. i have discovered that the best charge you get will be with the wall travel charger that comes with it..that puts a deep charge on the battery, were usb seems to put a surface charge on it..

Is USB charging (or more accurately, using MiniSync and a VersaCharger) going to damage my Pocket PC or wear it out faster? I'm about to invest a large chunk of cash on this beautiful Pocket PC, and I'd be devistated to watch it burn out and die. I plan on using the included dock and wall outlet charger MOST of the time (and whenever possible if charging from a completely drained battery).
The MiniSync and VersaCharger just seem so conveneint, and that's what I really need, convenience. (I am so SICK of my Toshiba's unwillingness to be highly portable, even though I have almost no accessories to lug around. Damn cables. )

You should be fine

I use a charge/ sync cable all the time and have no problems.

Be aware that due to limitations in the power output from USB posts on PC's you may have problems charging a heavily run down battery using this method.

As I said may have problems - if the battery is >40% full when connecting you should always be fine.
