Light sensor and backlight problem?
Hi,
Do other ppls 4700 behave like this?

When I go outside into bright light, the screen goes darker and when I go into a darker situation the screen goes brighter.

Same results if I just cover up the light sensor and uncover it(ie bright screen in darker situation and vice versa).

I want to change this behaviour so the screen is brighter in bright light (ie I can read it more easily) and duller in a dark room (so I don't get eyestrain).

I can always fix it by turning off automatic under backlight settings, but why have a sensor and auto lighting with this strange behaviour?

Anyone??

Edit: Okay - I think I've found the answer here.

Your iPAQ is functioning as designed. You may want to try an anti-glare screen protector.

Not cheap, but worth it. There is truth in advertising when it comes to both the anti-glare and clear versions

I thought it was the other way around? I never really noticeed. I leave mine at the lowest and leave auto on. Never seen it change in the sunlight. But a screen protector is a good idea. Get a ultra clear one. they are super easy to put on. I put mine on mine in a few seconds. Those one that they sell at CIrcuit City, Like Belkin, Take 30 min to get a perfect set on and no bubbles. When I tried to put one on my Zodiac 2, I went through 4 before I got it right. So go with a ultra clear. You will not regret it.
