Hi there,
sorry for this repeated and "trivial" question...but has ANYONE managed to create Outllook SUBFOLDERS on a 4700 as you would on Outlook on your desktop ?

In Messaging, go to you Outlook Mailbox, Select [Tools] -> [Manage Folders...]. Select the folder in which you wish to create the sub-folder; at that point tap the [New] menu to create a new Outlook Subfolder. My 4700 is connected to an Outlook Server (not via my PC); don't know if this makes a difference.

Thanks bogac and barlowgk for your help...
I did not explain myself as clearly as I thought.

What I actually need to do is create SUBFORDERS of Outlook's CONTACT folder..
ie multimple instances of the CONTACT folder

Have you done that ?

Unfortunately Activesync cannot sync to any contact folder other than the main contacts folder.

I have all my Contacts in my main folder sorted by Category - these categories are sync'd to you iPaq.

So if you want all your contacts sync'd you need to move them into the main contacts directory.

As it stands Activesync will not sync to Contacts subfolders. However Intellisync allows that capability if I am not mistaken.

Thanks Rob and Ted for your prompt responses....
you guys are great !
This forum is great !

I've already interacted a GREAT DEAL with the Tech guys & gals at both Active Synch and Intellisynch...without luck...

Further Explanation:

1. I presently use about 120 dbs in my pda

2. Each db has 15 categories

3. MOST dbs DON'T SHARE the same Categories...just a few ones.

4.Therefore MERGING all info into 1 db, is an EXCELENT option...but it WON'T WORK...for me, that is.

5. I DON'T NEED to synch a hx4700 with my desktop PC through Intellisynch or Activesynch...ALL OF MY INFO lives in cf cards!

6. I'm trying to replicate what I do today:
I store my dbs in a cf card and I access them from my machine...backups are ALSO made to a cf.

7. My THOUGHT / DOUBT / QUESTION is WOULD THIS WORK ????
7.1. Being that I keep my dbs in a cf card...
7.2 I would RENAME whichever db I need to use next IN THE cf card, as Outlook's CONTACT Folder is named in Outlook...extension and all.
7.3. I bring = copy over = replace that db to the machine's Outlook's CONTACT folder
7.4. Outlook belives it is using the SAME CONTACT folder...
but actually I am now using an ENTIRELY diferent db.

7.5. I GOTO 7.2, and use another db.

Sorry if it sounds complex...but I use MULTIPLE DATABASES on a daily basis, for work,
and I'd love to be eble to migrate to a hx4700...BUT THIS restriction has been holding me back for years !

Thanks for your time and patience !

Andrés
