ipaq 4705 low in run time memory
Hello All,

First of all, thank you every one has shared your experience in this 4rum. It helps new user like me a lot.

I'm having problem with my 4705, well, not a major but it's annoying. My PDA always has only 9 – 12 MB of memory available for runtime program (after soft reset). If I launch 2 program and it will soon drop down 0 BM available.

I have Tweaks2k2, and cleaner+ installed, but don’t know how to expand runtime memory using these program. Any one knows any program can does this trick please spot me out, I would be appreciate.

Thank you,
Pnguyen.

It sounds to me like you're installing a lot of apps into RAM.

My advice would be to get everything you can installed to iPAQ File Store.

There is another thread on this forum which gives a good step-by-step guide on freeing up available memory.

I have lots and lots of apps installed on my 4700 with only the absolute minimum installed to RAM.

I get approx. 40mb free on soft reboot.

As well as the great advice above also have a look at this post over at Aximsite:
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=76407

It is for an Axim but it gives good general advice about memory management

Also have a look in my MyPDA to see where I have installed programmes (link on the left under my username).
