Well, by true VGA I mean ozVGA. I have no idea how someone can an HX4700 and not use it in true VGA mode. Its just so damn beautiful. I know some people find the fonts too small, but with some fiddling you get the fonts to work the way you want, and its like having a true PC in your pocket.
I realized early on that practically no games worked in true VGA (except atomic cannon

), and a couple of others. I tried a number of games that worked OK in qVGA, but bah, 320 x 240 screens remind me of my Gameboy too much.
My last attempt with morphgear was a fiasco, but that was before 2004, so maybe the new version was better.
Now that X50 and 4700 are out, and my impression is that they have achieved some popularity (notwithstanding the so-called "death" of the whole PDA sector) there should be sufficient market to get programmers to make their games 480x640 capable. After all, if we are able to plunk down 400-700 for the basic PDA, let alone the fancy leather holder, wouldn't one think that a truly sexy shooter game or something like that would have a market of people willing to pay for it? It should look even better than the PSP.
Wishful thinking anyway.
Cheers.
