From posts I've read on other forums, this is usually attributed to failure of the digitizer - sounds like you'll need to send it in for service. Sorry.

Hi Tony, just a stab in the dark, but have you just applied or do you have a screen protector applied to the screen? There have been some posts here that when the screen protector is applied too tightly, or incorrectly, the touch screen won't work. If that's not the case, I am out of answers too.

A little while ago my touchscreen stopped working correctly, i noticed that it somehopped in a certain area of the screen, so to prove it didn't work, I started Notes and just drew lines over the support lines, and a on a few lines it was impossile to draw a straight line. Please note that the display itself was working perfectly. So I sent it back to HP and they returned my device with a new display....

Before you send it in. Remove the screen protector and see if the problem goes away.

If so - so not send you ipaq aqy.

Carefully reapply the screen protector - trying not to make it too tight against one said against another.
