Charging Up!
So what's the best way of charging. I'm using the cradle plugged into USB but not the charger. I've got it set on 'fast USB' charge but it seems to take forever. I suppose I could experiment but someone probably knows. Is it a lot faster to use the charger and if so best plugging it in directly to the unit or the cradle?

Plugging into the mains is always faster than charging from the USB port due to the amount of power available to be drawn by your unit.

If you want to sync at the same time then I recommend you use the cradle with the mains and the USB port plugged in.

I have an after market USB charge/sync cable. It has a switch to either charge or sync, but not both at the same time. I noticed it charged my 4705 a lot faster than it did in the cradle. Also, in the cradle, without the AC plugged in, and the unit turned on, I didn't get the flashing amber light. I did get the light with the other cable, but when charging, I couldn't sync.

I wanted to get a faster charge here at work (where I don't have the AC adapter), so I modified the cradle to charge like the after market cable, but still allow me to sync. It was a pretty easy modification, and I removed the AC plug in the cradle so I can't 'forget' and plug the AC in.

Works great, and charged a drained Mugen extended battery to 100% in about 4 hours.
