well the best bt gps for that kind of thing is the Fortuna Clip on bt. it's easily attached to a belt or a backpack. it also uses the SIRF Xtrac chipset, which allows for reception even when in bad visibility, such as between skyscrapers. i know that fortuna makes a CF version of it, but i dont know if they updated it to XTrac2 or not...
another you might want to try is a Haicom CF gps... they have the ability to add a bluetooth "slipper" that makes it a BT receiver.
the key with walking is you'll have to find a software package that meets your needs. most road navigation suites are ok with finding out how to walk from point a to point b downtown. you'll be looking at a different investment if you're trying to go hiking or want topo maps.
