CF GPS for walking ?
I look a good CF GPS receiver for my hx4700. Not for use in car but for pedestrian use.

Any idea?

I would get a bluetooth GPS unit and throw the GPS unit in a pocket... then your CF slot is free, and it's almost like your hx4700 has GPS built in.

well the best bt gps for that kind of thing is the Fortuna Clip on bt. it's easily attached to a belt or a backpack. it also uses the SIRF Xtrac chipset, which allows for reception even when in bad visibility, such as between skyscrapers. i know that fortuna makes a CF version of it, but i dont know if they updated it to XTrac2 or not...

another you might want to try is a Haicom CF gps... they have the ability to add a bluetooth "slipper" that makes it a BT receiver.

the key with walking is you'll have to find a software package that meets your needs. most road navigation suites are ok with finding out how to walk from point a to point b downtown. you'll be looking at a different investment if you're trying to go hiking or want topo maps.

I use Pathaway together with the famous ttqv.

I think CF GPS needs no additional powerpack as BT GPS does.
And I don't spoil battery power with BT transmitters.

My hx 4700 has all progs on SD card. CF is free for modem or gps.
