With the New 4705 update the BT issue TRULY is fixed!
I know this has been posted, but it's burried and it's an important issue for some of us so I wanted to make sure others didn't have to look too hard and long for the answer.

I just did the update, restored all my apps and then with 6 today plug-ins installed (and activated) and 3 big programs open as well, I was able to turn on both BT and wifi at the same time.

I am happy now!

Graet Job HP!

That's great news since that seemed to be a common problem with all PPC's, I guess it was worth the wait.

While I haven't had any BT issues yet with the new ROM update, there is always WMP 10 and the new wifi icon (that actually shows what network you are connected to) to upgrade for.

Yes, there is if you are indeed getting the bt error for as I've stated earlier I longer get the error with the new update and as others have stated my unit seems to be snappier as well.

And I'm playing an MP3 in WM10, with WIFI and bt on and I recieve NO "out of memory" error.

5..02 MB Storage
10.09 of Program Memory Free

Shallax, this is weird.

I wonder how our setup could be so different as to allow such varied results.

I mean we appear to have almost the same amount of memory left.

And the memory stated in my post above is with all the today screen plug-ins running as well as BT, Wifi and WMP 10 plaing a mp3.

I know there are other variables involved with different options selected and different programs loaded and such, but man...

I only updated to the new rom because I read that others were not receiving the bt error after updating.

Otherwise this has been a very busy day for me (work-wise) and I certainly would have waited until tonight or tomorrow to update, but instead I updated at lunch (and as you know -it's quick and painless) because the not receiving the bt error was important to me.

I restored my unit from my Sprite backup, restored my Filestore from my CF card and all is well and at this point seems to be better.

As guess time will tell and perhaps I'll notice things that are better and maybe things that aren't so good, but for now I'm satisfied.

Well... Good Luck with it anyway.

I have Wifi enabled, WMP10 playing, 16mb memory free. I can start up BT OK, but I have nothing to connect it to (yet).

I have PI 2005, MS Reader, Tom Tom 3.07, Resco File Explorer, Pocket WInC, and Tweaks32 loaded.

Doesn't look like BT is fixed from my end either. After closing all running applications on one occasion I was still unable to fire up bluetooth.

yea, it seems like it takes more to kill the bt, but it still does die... but is easily "revived" with a soft reset

It may be all in my head, but It's in my hand as well. My Bluetooth always failed to start up, while my WiFi was running (Which it always is). Now it ALWAYS starts up. So the update was good for me.

Yep, same here! It's all working and working well for me!

With the same setup (as in the same programs and plug-ins I installed and had running before the rom update) I no longer get the BT error.

*Note to Shallax
You appear to be well informed and you probably have a great sense of humor (I believe I detect in it your post above), but surely you're aware there's a strong possibilty that the your setup (as in apps installed in ram, Today Plug-ins and SIPs) is most likely different than ours and obviously this will have a huge affect on the ability to run or not be able to run bt and wifi simultaneously.

I'm just saying that there are many variables involved (as I'm sure you realize) and that one or two these being selected differently could surely impact the way our machines function.

OR maybe your machine is broken.

OR maybe it's all in YOUR head and the wifi/bt combo is actually working and your mp3s are playing at the same time, but you just can't hear em!

PS. You asked if the update mentioned that bt memory management was addressed and I'll tell you that didn't that I didn't see it, but I also missed the part where it was mentioned that most apps would open quicker (as many who did the rom update can attest to) as well.

Later

Hehehe, in total I have installed about 2 apps out of ~30 into main memory (small apps at that!). Before, bluetooth would RARELY fail, now it failed straight after a soft reset! This is my luck, I guess ... roll on WM5.0 - maybe this will see the end of problems completely!
