Backlight Problem
Hi

I just purchased an IPAQ hx4705 and am generally pleased with it's operation. I am having an annoying problem with it, however, and I'm sure it must be because I am unfamiliar how to fix the settings. When I adjust the brightness level on the backlight for "on battery" use and then turn it off, when I turn the device on again, the slide bar has returned to the very bottom and the screen is dark again. Even when I touch the screen to turn on the backlight (I turned that setting on) the screen is still dark until I go back into the settings for the backlight and adjust the slide bar again. Is there a way to fix the slide bar so it does not return to the lowest position?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It normally doesn't slide to the bottom unless you put it there...if you haven't done much, do a backup, hard reset, then restore. This may fix your problem, and it only takes about 5 minutes...

How are you truning the machine on and off - a quick press will do.

If you hold down the button this dims the screen instead.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I just pressed the on/off switch quickly and now the problem does not occur. I guess I have alot to learn.
