Bletooth Device woes after ROM Update
OK. After many days of fixing the glitches post ROM update. Where did that File Explorer go???

Well, I've unwisely offered to assist another hx4700 user get his bluetooth virtual keyboard to work.

After trying LOTS of different tactics a hard reset solved the issue. However, it means ALOT of extra work to get it back to working status. There MUST be a way to reset or regedit bluetooth back to base levels...

problem is..I have no idea which files or keys need to be removed.

HELP!!!

Richard

I might have misread your cry for help, but after a hard reset I would have thought that you would need to ADD files, not delete them; does your friend have the software installation disk?

All I am looking to do is reset blutooth in the registry (and any config files) back to hard reset standards. I am NOT looking to re-install everything after a hard reset.

Thanks!

Ahh!! I understand what you're getting at now!! (Only took half a day & a sledgehammer )

OK - I've looked through my registry & found LOADS of entries for 'Bluetooth' & a couple for the Stowaway Keyboard that I use. Having seen what's in there I must salute you for your bravery, as I would not like to attempt to change any or all of the entries - there's a lot of them, which means there's a lot that can go wrong.

So yes, there must be a way to reset bluetooth back to base levels, but it needs a man with a stout heart (I would also suggest that he has a friend that can sit down next to him him so that they can compare all the different bluetooth entries in each other's registry & decide which ones they want to change).

Files and or config in registry
OK Really all I need to do is remove any bluetooth info for configuartion from the registry and the file system that determines what bluetooth connects(ed) to. If I can get this to work I will be set.

The only thing I can think of is to have a look at all the BT registry settings straight after a hard reset and note down ALL the BT settings - that way you will be able to manually change them back afterwards
