Slip case for hx4700?
I'm after a slip-case, but I can't find one anywhere... I want it to be small and light, don't care about material, but I don't want to have to open it up or anything - just want to be able to slip my iPAQ in and out (don't care about taking it out to sync either).

I'm using a Proporta book-style case at the moment and, whilst a very nice case, it's just far too bulky.

Any suggestions?

Ewww, that looks horrible! :-)

Plus I can't see it being particularly quick to get the iPAQ in or out of. I just want something to protect the screen/buttons whilst it's in my pocket. At the moment, I'm thinking of going back to the flip cover thing that came with it, but being left-handed it's an absolute PITA.

I use a Sena case. It does have a flip cover but it's attached at the top, so it works well for left handers as well.

The flip cover means you don't have to slide it out every time you use the iPAQ but it does slide out easily enough.

I've actually got two of these cases now. One is large enough for the extended battery and one fits with the regular battery in.

I do not have a belt clip on my case, but that is an option.

Try these:

Heavy leather pouch-type cases.

I have a CaseLogic PLT-10 that I use with my 4700. It is a perfect fit -- snug without being too tight -- and it has a little elastic loop that goes over the top to prevent the PDA from falling out.

I think the the best is an aluminum metal case.
PPC is very safe inside it....
You can see here for an example:

This is slightly offtopic and I apologize but can can someone please clue me in on why no bookcase style case for the 4700 except this one:

http://neodigits.com/body/product/ipaq4700/feature.asp

opens like a standard book from right to left? I looked forever until came across the one at neodigits and finally ordered it. I guess if your left handed, opening from left to right is perfect but since I am not, it is a MAJOR annoyance.

Anyway, thanks for letting me rant.

I have been very happy with the Sena case that I have. It allows you to sync/charge in the cradle without removing it from the case. It doesn't add as much bulk as other cases that I have seen. They also have excellent customer service on their products. I have also used the EB cases, but they are a little too thick for me. Both of these cases have magnetic closures, and no tab around the bottom, they are held in place on the front. Really nice designs.
