loading TomTom (Or trying to!!)
Hi,
Wonder if anyone can advise please ?.
I load tomtom onto my sd card complete and all works fine unless I remove the card and then the programme cannot see the maps (It comes back and tells me to load a map)althought they are still on the card.......so, I was told to load the programme into the main memory and only put the map on the sd card,,,,,fine.....until I take the card out to read it on a card reader or move another programme onto the card via a card reader and then we go back to square one !! the programme cannot see the maps again!!.................but the maps are still on the card!...so can some kind soul please explain just how I am supposed to load the maps onto the card and retain them in the programme if I happen to remove the card when not required or I wish to put something else on the card ?.......

Hope you guys can understand as I have only had the 4700 about 10 days and getting a bit cheesed off with having to continually reload the whole programme each time I have removed the card....please remember I am a newcomer to this game so would appreciate simplicity.
Thanks guys....
Clive

The only time I have seen this happen is when the pda cannot physically see the card is present in the pda even though it is inserted.

When it doesn't work can you access the card using file explorer on your pda & can you see the maps on the sd card? If you can't see the sd card then do a soft reset.

When you are taking the card out, is the pda off or on? If it is on when you remove then I would recomend you switch the pda off 1st & re-insert with it still off.

Is TomTom still running in minimised mode when you remove the card - I don't use TomTom so I can't be sure if this is the problem, but not all programs actually close when you exit them - they just run in minimised mode. If this is the case with TomTom then you need to go to Settings/Running Programs & close it before you remove the card.
