maybe a dumb question!
Well, my HX4700 arrived today and my first of what will no doubt be many questions is:

Does it actually turn off?
When I press the little button at the top it just seems to turn the light off, but the screen still has stuff on it. So, when i tried to put one of the screen protectors on I kept activating stuff on the screen!! I've tried holding the button down for a few seconds but it still wont turn off.

All the button seems to do is switch the light on and off.

I did try and do a search on this forum before asking such a lame question but couldn't find anything.

I'm sure it's just me but if someone could help me out with this simple one.

thanks

Hi Lorax. Try not holding the button in too long. It is a feature of the device to be able to turn the backlight on or off without turning the device off by pressing and holding the on/off button. A quick press should turn the device either on or off.

I have a hx4700: just push the button sharply, and the device will switch off. Or do a search on SnapFiles or Freeware4PPC for 'power off' utilities.
