I have one of these cases and they are good. They do get scratched fairly easily, and I have broken two clips so far...

What brand of Aluminum case were you using? What type of padding is in it?

I'm curious about the aluminum case as well. I was looking at the PDAir version and have been considering buying it. I have a leather Piel Frama case now but I worry about protection every now and then. I'm mainly looking at the PDAir model because I can buy it locally and I really hate having to order things by mail.
Which brand of aluminum case was it?

No sign of mine either - Proporta keep moving the goal posts.

I have had problems with my case and I can't get the company to respond to my emails, everytime I try calling the company, the phone just rings and rings.

Hi, I have both the Innopocket aluminium case (my first buy) and the Magnesium case. I really love and prefer the Magnum case : it is less bulky, really more sturdy (you cen bend the aluminium case when it is empty). It closelu follows the outline of the 4700 and its colour is just beatiful (even if gets scratched even if I have a recent version - so supposedly without the paint problem). I do not have yet any problem with the latch but it can probably get broken since it is in plastic and this is a shame for such a nice and sturdy case.
I have received my Magnum case a month ago and my aluminium case has just been sitting in the drawer since then... The MAgnum case is the most solid and beatiful case I have ever used... I have bought it directly from Innopocket and received it in one week (I line in France).

I hope this helps...

Regards,

Murat

Sorry to hear about that as well.

I got an Innopocket aluminum case for my hx4700 - probably one like yours. The Neoprene cushion is just too thin, and any bang on the case would probably be transmitted directly to the chassis.

For work, I'm still hunting for the right case (leather/soft); hopefully one that would fit an extended battery, and would CUSHION it from falls as well. The Otterbox cases are a little too extreme for work...

The Piel Frama cases seem to be OK, as they cover most of the corners. The Sena cases (I think only they have a good - looking one for extended batteries) seem to leave the corners exposed (to fit the cradle for hot - syncs).

My old Clie used a really ugly no - name case which did its job pretty well - the chassis is still in EXCELLENT condition, as is the screen (despite using only Frisket Paper as a protector). There's only this one little chip at the corner where the case flaps over.

If you're prone to dropping your PDA, go for something wrap - around and soft.
