I am not sure of this Claunch shell software, but I know of one that probably does much more. May I direct you over to
www.ppx3k.com. I am not paid to advertise for them or anything, but I have been a member of their community since 2003 (my forum name is 8ball). PPX3k is a shell for the PPC OS, but adds a suite of extensive modifications enabling more efficient use of your PPC. I have been alpha testing the latest release, expected to be out sometime in the near future, which will offer better VGA support and more features. Some features in the existing version (2.33) are draggable icons, icon labels, tattooed icons, multiple pages, user defined popup menus, exact placement of objects, definable taskbar hotspots, cascading start menu, skinable taskbar, etc. The UI is totally skinnable and skinning is very easy to do. Also, there are roughly 150 skins already to choose from and more and more being designed all the time ( I am building an XP-like VGA UI for both landscape and portrait modes as well as an OSX version of the same type).
I strongly urge you to check it out over at ppx3k.com, or ppxthemes.com (for ideas of what is possible with PPX). I believe the software is like $9.95, and, considering what you get, it is almost like stealing, it is such a good price.
Also, there is a VERY dedicated staff and many expert users that can be contacted either via email or through the cool forums over there. I am always reachable for questions if you have any,
jnppc@comcast.net. Hopefully I can help, or direct you to someone who can.
Again, I DO NOT work for the PPX3k company, so I am not trying to push you into buying the software. I simply want to give my opinion on this awesome product. I have been using it for over 2 years, and I know the product pretty well and I know that the people over there are really cool, I would love to help a new PPXer out if you had any problems or questions. It would be worthwile to check out the free demo, though I am not sure if the demo is the latest version. It may still be the one from a year or so ago, so take its UI with a large grain of salt, as most of the more modern PPX features will be missing.
