First I'll say that I did do a search and this thread didn't come up in the first page...maybe it's because the search system searches the body as well as the text and brings in a high number of hits with typical keywords (like touchpad).
I would also be inclined to say that if repeated threads didn't exist forums would die. Probably better than 75% of posts are repeats. I found this out long ago on other forums on which I had been a long time member.
Sorry if I created a nuisance. I will try to post less in case its a duplicate.

Red Seven, I am not saying it a nuisance

- I am saying that a thread like it already exists that you may not have noticed. If I thought it really was a nuisance thread then I would have done something about it - rather than point a link to a very similar thread
My post was in no way made to inform you that you should post less, but to highlight that on a subject as evocative as the touchpad a very similar thread already exisits

You may also notice that I usually only post these links when users are not novices.
(BTW - this was the third poll about the Touchpad - there is another
HERE)
Also, I don't understand how starting a new thread is any different to restarting an older thread on an identical subject in keeping boards alive
If you are after feedback for what people think of the touchpad then surely being informed that there is another thread increases the feedback that you now have - or was that not the point of the thread
(Just for information the advanced search option allows you to choose whether to search the 'Entire post' or just the 'Title Headers' - there is a drop down under the Keyword).
