If/When Do we get Magneto?
Any leaks on when we hx4700 users will be able to upgrade to Magneto (Windows Mobile v. 5.0 or otherwise known as the outdated Windows Mobile 2005)? DO we even get the option for the upgrade? For $600 I better get a flippin WM5.0 upgrade...

There is a forum dedicated to Magneto on this site. Check it out, should have all your answers in there. At least any answers that are currently available.

When HP first announced that it would offer Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrades for some iPAQ models, it only said these would be available sometime this summer.

Since then, HP has updated its web site to say that the upgrades will be available in late summer.

However, HP still hasn't revealed what it will charge for the upgrades.

Typical (and it's only the middle of winter here , Rob'll get it). Good to see HP appreciating the global nature of their business!

Call this winter! - I'm still wearing a T-shirt

Actually I will be in Bris Vegas next week (Tuesday 'til Sunday) - a bit of work and visiting some friends - so I am looking forward to the warmer weather.

Recommend anywhere good to watch the Lions next Wednesday evening 5.10pm in the Brisbane CBD?

I am expecting a cost of between $20 - $30 USD for the upgrade from HP.

Try Adfenaline on Mary St or theres an irish pub on the George street the name of which escapes me. Dooleys in The Valley is a pretty safe bet too.

Previous upgrades from HP have been more like £50 (~$90).

Exactly. But that's for the U.K £50. In Europe it's €50 (~$65). And in the U.S. it's only $30.

We'll see. To stay competitive I don't expect prices to be that high. OS upgrades from Dell have ranged around $30 USD in the past. This was for the WM2003 upgrade. I am not even sure getting the WM2003 Upgrade CD from HP is that much.

Rob,
At least you're not rubbing it in about the Dockers Vs. Lions fiasco (for us) last weekend!!

Maybe one day!!!

Bill.......;-)

PS. Thanks for your tips about my questions before concerning cleanup utilities. Have bought SK Tools. Also d/loaded a great programme, photo to pocketpc shown on your View my PDA. It saves me, with the batching process, doing the job individually with Jascpsp8. Now I can bore everone with even more photo's
