I was going to get a Jam to hold me over since I don't like my Treo 650. Since I read the Jam will not come out with 5.0 udpate I'm holding off on that. I want a PPC phone that can be upgraded to 5.0 or come with it right out of the box.

We have an PPC phone with 5.0 on it right now. I don't know what the rush is. Most of the programs everyone uses here are just begining beta testing to run on 5.0. So even if you had it you cant run most of your stuff. Pocket Informant is not ready yet (we are beta testing it now) and I know every here uses that.

I can say it is pretty though. Should be nice to have in a few months when the software catches up.

I sure hope the software catches up by the time 5.0 is released, I don't have many 3rd party apps but the ones I have I use quite often(Splash ID). I'm in a rush since I really want a converged device but don't want to spend the money on something that would be upgraded to 5.0. Can you say what 5.0 phone you have? How do you like it compared to the current PPC Phone edition?

We have an XDA II which was never sold in USA. It is the next model up of the T-Mobile Pocket PC phone which added bluetooth and much more memory. Our version is made by O2 but it is sold by others and with different names. You can get them easily from E-bay and they are excellent solid phones.

Obviously it does not come with Window Mobile 5.0 since that is still in beta. Go to XDA-Developers to find how to upgrade the device. It works great and even with the lack of available software it is still worth it.

I use the Jam currently and really am not getting excited about the newer OS. I'm going to wait for you early adopters to get the bugs out for me! However, if you want a PPC phone that is going to be upgraded to the new OS, you should buy the Eten M500. It is available now...
