I'm trying to record an ASF stream from a website. They put TV documentaries online in case you missed them. Problem is you can only play but not save them.
Very annoying because I can't play them on my 4700 that way.

I found 2 tools, Streambox VCR and ASFrecorder. Both claim they can record these streams but both fail to conenct to the server (timeout). Playback through the old Windows media player works fine, so I guess these tools don't work well.

Any tips on what else to try?

Try Net Transport. v1.87 is freeware and can be found pretty easily.

Never been unable to grab any kind of file.

The Net Transport thingie worked! Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, their server is a piece of junk. After a few minutes, picture turns black, audio continues. I tried with media player, for a normal streaming test, same thing.
