I have an HP990c and Laserjet 5, both with IR ports. It shoud be a nobrainer to print. I go through the Printmanager panel, tap connect, it then goes to the printer config panel and I manually add the two printers. Print tests on both fail.

How can I check my IR port works?

Also, I checked/unchecked receive beams but that does not seem to make a difference.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, I will be trying this software.

I actually solved my problem. I am trying to figure out who is the bigger idiot.

Me for not reading the manual and assuming the IR port is on the top of the deice.

HP for putting the port on the bottom, the last place one would think to look.

When I point the "right" end at the printers, it works.
