Does 4700 have USB Host ability?
can I connect a external notebook HDD directly to the 4700 USB port?
if not, can I use this USB 1.1 Host Adapter CF Card to achieve the same goal?

Many Thanks

WOW! Didn't even know this existed...would be great for transferring to my thumbdrive while at work!

It seems to work on some ipaqs, probably hasn't been tested on the 4700, but no reason why it wouldn't work....except that its USD $139 wasted it it doesn't.

Natively the hx4700 does not have USB hosting capabilities. However you can use a USB CF card to do USB hosting. You will be limited to what USB devices you could use but USB drives should work with no problem.

I wonder what the battery drain would be, since you would be powering the USB CF hub, and the thumb drive or other USB device from the 4700's battery. I imagine it would be a tremendous drain.
