EVDO Data on HX4700??
I was reading a recent review of Verizon's EVDO wireless data service in the NY Times and it got me thinking how cool it would be get those kind of data tranfer speeds on an Ipaq. Getting the service requires a special PC card for your laptop. The data transfer rates are said to 400-700 kps.

Here is the article:

Beyond Wi-Fi

It would be great if someone develops a CF based card that would work with an Ipaq to get EVDO.

Bluetooth needs to get faster :/

Then you could connect a BT EV-DO phone to your ipaq, since EV-DO phones are probably right around the corner.

What kind of speeds will Bluetooth support on the hx4700?

I also wonder how fast 3g data speeds will be on Cingular's network. I am locked in to a contract with Cingular right now.

I have tested the hx4700's bluetooth version 1.2 link and it does about 650kbits MAX [the BT spec says 1.0Mbit max, but this more typically seen as 721kb max payload] So BT to carry EVDO data is a valid solution. If only Verizon would release a CF card with a pcmcia carrier card for PDA/laptop usage....

Verify your 1.10 ROM hx470x does NOT have the battery-crippling failure.. see http://www.ipaqhq.com/forums/showthr...2&page=6&pp=25 for details...
