Is it Better to Wait at this point? hmmm
Hi...I am moments away from making my first PDA purchase & i dont want to settle for anything less than VGA..ive been on this board reading & asking questions between the HP 4700 vs. AXIM 50v....so right now im right on the edge to make my gut impluse to make the purchase. I am leaning towards the HP 4700.

My only last thought is, considering that the hp 4700 price avg. is around $550....im concerned with, as I believe i mentioned in a prior thread that the lifecycle of the HP 4700 and also the AXIM 50v, considering they have been out for a Year...is pretty close to the end with a newer model of AXIM 50v coming out in Fall...and im sure HP will follow.
Someone on the board once told me, it depends how patient I am, on if i should wait...but seems like im not patient enough, since I want a PDA now ...

So basically I am asking for any other opinions on - if believe at this point considering a hefty price (anything over $400 on something a year old is hefty, especially on pc type items that get outdated fast) - Do you feel its worth the purchase, would you wait at this point to see the next pdas considering lets say they arrive by December, aside from your patient level etc lol...

Well, any type of reply, i will appreciate. Thanks.

I would go with what you want NOW.
Since the new models will always be "around the corner", one could be waiting indefinately.
I'd also go with the 4700, it's a great device!!

Not sure where you heard about a "new" x50v coming out later...if anything, it will already have the wm5 update like the 4700 will once it comes out.

The 4700 is nice, and even at 624 Mhz it will be the standard (like the 50v) for at least a few more years. These deviced have done something nothing else has done...once has the 3d chip w/ VGA, the other has a 4" screen w/ VGA. No matter what happens, you could use a 4700 or 50v for at least 2 ro 3 more years without it being outdated.
