I'm using STABLE.0.51 betaplay and aacfull .STABLE.0.51 Plugins.
Every time i play the wmv file it comes out "Windows Media Video 9"
can't find the code. But the media player 10 does.
It happened since i update my rom.

someone please help!!!

w/ the new rom, betaplayer wont play wmv's. w/ wmp9, betaplayer used wmp9's codecs, but it can't w/ wmp10...

picard knows this and is working on it with his new player.

new version (unstable) that CAN play WMV files... changed the name from betaplayer to TCPMP

Hi all, this is not just a name change - it will play .wmv format as well. I have just downloaded and installed and loaded up one of my .wmv files and it played straight away. Only issue I have is that it says full screen under orientation but still have all the tool bars etc showing so go ahead and give it a try.

I just got this program myself after a lot of searching on how to play WMV files in fullscreen. This great program played my WMV right away. In full screen (no toolbar showing like MarkAR was saying). Can display fullscreen in either orientation.

Works fantastic.!

this *IS* the solution for anyone wanting to get fullscreen WMV playing.

I also just downloaded the unstable version of TCPMP (new name for Betaplayer) and it plays all of my .WMV files perfect. No problems at all. Great news for 4700 users who have upgraded to the new ROM version.

Is there any way of loading additional codecs for Betaplayer. For example, I have some avi's compressed using Cinepak codecs that won't play. It will play other AVIs but not these ones. I just get

Error
Player:Video codec (Cinepak, CVID) not found! Try checking the homepage for additional codec plugins

but I can't find anything on the homepage or forums

Same issue here. Since the folks (now, at least) know about it, I'm sure they'll figure something out. The Cinepak codec isn't THAT new, as some of the files that I've got that are encoded as such I've had around for quite some time. In any case, the developers just need more time. They're doing an AWESOME job so far too!

Now once they can ALSO play MOV and QT files, I'll just be flabberjawockied! Wont' have to worry about converting much of anything except off of DVD to compress down for SD card format.
