And Now It Works.
I know this subject has been done to death but I finally relented and restored
my 4705 to the Old Rom.

Now it works again.
No more random hang-ups that result in having to hard reset.
No more battery glitches.
No more frustration.

It just works.

Once again it's my PDA.
My h1945 has been once again reassigned to "back up PDA".

I wonder if WM 2005 will be a similar pain in the but?

We can but live in eternal hope (and blissful denial). WM5 will be the saviour of PDA's, make your coffee in the morning (after waking you with soothing encouragement for the day ahead), balance your finances and help with that promotion at work you have been aspiring to.........................................get real!! We will end up the beta researchers, and have enough material for threads on this site till it's eventual and inevitable replacement.
Have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......Bill...;-)

Yeah me too, I had to go back to the old ROM.

Connecting to APs with the new ROM was giving me a lot of trouble.

The old one works fine, and I can use Betaplayer for WMV again now.

I had probelms connecting to APs with the new ROM as well. At the suggestion of a friend, I simply reinstalled the NEW ROM and the problems cleared up - so far it's been great.

Well said!
I'm going to cool my heals when WM 2005 is released for the 4705 and see
what happens.

No more unpaid beta work for me.

And I.

I have not installed the updated ROM as I am not having any problems with my 4700 - and I am rather glad I resisted going by the problems that have arisen and the number of people who have reverted to the old version.

I have not had any problems with AP's (yet.) works at mine, neighbors, and buddies down the road, and a few in-town.

I actually had problems with lag on the origional, but faster on this one...and no battery issues on standard battery..

Guess there are those who didn't have problems before and do now...just like the opposite is also true.

Wm5 being bug free? More than likely not. Airhead had the right idea. We'll all be beta testers until IT's replacement.
