HP 4700 Online?
If i am not near my wifi network and I dont have a Bluetooth phone, is there still a way to wirelessly use my HP 4700 to go online?

I want to be able to take my PDA anywhere & know I have total access to the internet whenever & wherever I want.....is there a way do that without a Bluetooth cell phone?

Not without a service similar to that of say a Blackberry I'm afraid Dragon. I have read here somewhere that there will soon be an iPAQ with an associated service, but can't remember when or what.

I hope this comes soon though as this would be superb.

You can buy a compact flash card that gives your PPC a GPRS connection. Some of the cards even support voice phone calls, with the downside of unlike a cell phone enabled PPC, the phone part only works when the device is on, meaning you can't receive phone calls while it's turned off. For internet access though, it should be fine.

You could get a bluetooth modem that plugs into a land line. You connect to the modem using bluetooth the same way you would connect to a bluetooth cell phone, but instead the modem then connects to land lines to reach your ISP.

You could use IR to connect to your cell phone, if your cell phone supports it.

You could use a cable to connect to your cell phone, if your phone has this option.

You could get a modem card that connects to a land line.

Those are the only options I can think of right now.

Use any cell phone
I use a Gomadic cable to connect my verizon phone to the Ipaq.
It cost $39
The call is free if you do it evenings and weekends.

Check out gomadic.com
Works great for me.

If your phone has infrared you could use that too, and if you don't mind a bit of wardriving works quite well too. Yesterday we went to the cinema and found out the show we wanted to see was already fully booked so we just drove out into the nearest block of houses to see if we could find an open wifi network, took me 5 minutes, and had a full internet connection to search for other cinema's nearby. *demonic laughter*
