BT Headphone problems
I have BT bluetooth headphones setup and recognised on my 4700 problem is when playing music it is a bit jerky and sometimes misses even though I'm sitting right next to PDA, it's better with WM player but with Audio Recorder it is terrible it does though take some of the joy out of listening even with WM! Any suggestions would be much appreciated (i have latest ROM 1.10)

I normally suggest that whenever audio gets jerky it is due to CPU resources. I believe Audio Recorder has more CPU overhead then WMP. The bitrate that the songs is encoded to also plays a hand in CPU resources. The higher the bitrate the larger the file as well as the more CPU cycles it takes to decode the file. Thus the CPU has to work harder to play the file. Some people want the higher bitrates to get near CD quality but only to suffer with CPU resource issues. Also understand that the BT radio uses the same CPU resources to transmit. So when the CPU hiccups thus the audio transmission via BT will hiccup.

The easiest thing I suggest is to reencode the audio at a lower bitrate. Make sure that no other programs are running in foreground or background.

What bit rate do you think is an optimal balance between performance and sound quality?

Well I use the OGG sound format at a bitrate of 96Kbps. I have no problems with skips. I do occasionally get skips or bumps when I am doing something on the PPC. I use GSPlayer to play my OGG songs. GSPlayer is simple and not too much overhead.

BT Headphone problems
I have done all that has been suggested and it has improved things greatly but it is still not as good quality as cable headphones, still get little 'blips' which to some extent spoil the enjoyment of the music do you think WM5 will solve this problem? Or are there any other suggestions?

nothing is going to improve. BT headphones are a novelty for early adopters. I bought mine, and it is a love/hate relationship. I LOVE, absolutely LOVE not having a thether to my device, but HATE even minor audio blips. I guess it is the sacrifice for wireless freedom. Hopefully with the second generation of these headphones alot of the problems will go away. Many of their problems cannot be tied to software or firmware problems, but rather in the hardware itself.
