OS rollback Q's
As the "Windows Mobile Costs Money???" thread is getting a bit too hot, thought I would start a new thread instead of trying to add fuel to fire.
My question is this, if I purchase WM5 and find it to be unsuitable, too buggy, memory hogging, or a collection of all three (or more), can I simply reload ROM 1.0 (or 1.10 if that is your want) to rollback to the WM2003 OS it originally came installed with? If it's not that simple, then what is the procedure, as it may be the difference between staying with 2003 if I can't. (better the devil you know!!)
Bill........;-)

Hi Bill. Apologies if we got too far off track over there... . That's a good question. I would think you would be able to reload ROM 1.0, but I am not sure if either of those two files (ROM1.0 or ROM1.10) has all the other apps or if it only has the the elements that were fixed/added. My reasoning is based on the folks who had battery issues after updating to ROM1.10 and then went back to 1.0, but still had the problems. Ted/Chris, any insight?

The ROM updates have EVERYTHING!!! ...the new WM5 disk will be about the same size as the ROM files....it just has a new OS along with it.

If you want to roll back, yes you can do so.

Thanks Driftless, now I feel ready for everything. Have already downloaded ROM1.0 just in case that was the answer. I prefer belt, braces and a piece of string before I do (most) anything. Be prepared!!

Roll Back better
Hi guys, been following all the rom related threads and finally decided to roll back from 1.10 as I had installed it on receipt of my hx4r700 so only knew problesm. Now the ipaq works and works fast with exactly the same apps build, inl location. I have ordered the 5700 battery from Neodigits and hopefully that will work fully now I am back on 1.0 and have not done any changes when I receive the battery.

Here's hoping....................
