Trying to Access the Net through WIFI
I'm trying to st up the WIFI on my 4700 to be able to access the net through my laptop's Internet connection, problem is, I'm new to WIFI....

I tried to set it up like I would a normal Ethernet connection & got nowhere fast.

So I'd like to know if anyone has managed to get a 4700 to be able to access the net like this...?
If so, mind posting how?

Thanks

Couldn't you just use your computer and set it to allow ThroughPut on the Internet Connections settings?

If I'm understanding correctly, you basically want to use your handheld to Wi Fi into your Computer, using your PC as an Access POint then, and then from there go to the internet. Correct?

Or do I not have your question down correctly?

Bingo, Exactly what I want to do.

I'm assuming i'll need to set up a VPN, but I've never done that before to be honest & could use a walkthrough.

(misread your post at first)

You'll want to use Internet Connection Sharing if I'm understanding what you are trying to do. ICS is described pretty fully in Windows help. You'll also need to set your iPaq and wireless card on the laptop (I'm assuming there is one) into ad-hoc mode. Check the Ad-hoc (Peer-to-peer) mode section of the WiFi Guide for a few details.
