Magnesium Metal Case Users- got a ?
From the looks of it the 4700 must be removed in order to insert into the cradle, is this correct? Secondly, if removal is necessary does the 4700 easily slip out or is it an engineering feat to remove from the case and to get it back in the case? Thanks

You have to remove it if you want to use the cradle, the fit is very tight at first but loosens after time. I just use the adapter instead if the cradle so I do not have to take it out of the case.

Also its not very hard to take out it just seems like it is at first because the neoprene sticks so well. But if you really want to get a Magnesium Metal Case, I would suggest doing what allkrnoflr did and get an adapter. Also it seems like the bottom hole designated for the cable is a bit tight. But I've heard someone else actually used a nail filer and made it bigger that way.

Wait never mind about the nail file thing. That's only for the Dell Magnesium case.

As stated, it will not work with a cradle. You will probably want to get a USB cable with a smaller plug on it for syncing (one of my power adapters is too big )

I picked up a Micro Innovations sync cable that fits without any modification. I think I found it at a local CompUSA...when I get home I'll look for the box/reciept and post the store name and model number.

Ninja

Edit: I can't find the package, but I looked around and found this link. The picture is wrong, but the description matches what I bought.

I regularly use my Boxwave Minisync cable. It does not fit as fully as I would desire but it fits enough to charge the iPAQ and to sync if I leave it alone during the process (I cannot use it at the same time since the cable gets pulled out quite easily)...

Regards,

Murat

I use the manesium case and I cut most of the back liner out for easier removal and heat dispersion. I also use the USB cable for syncing but I had to file a little off the bottom to make the connection fit.
At the present, I use the clear case from BoxWave.

I have proporta alu case and expansys sync cable which all fits ok for sync and charge without modification. Not a mag case but I guess the same sort of design.

Tell you a funny story. When I first put the unit in the case I it kept firing off the voice record button. I figured it was all just bad design and the whole thing was too tight. I was just about to call Expansys and tell them what a pile of c*@p they'd sent me when I realised I'd put the b*&%dy thing in upside down

Actually a damn good case
