"Today" and battery pack slowing down my iPAQ?
Hello everyone
My iPAQ4700 is using OmegaOne Battery pack, but ever since I use it (I guess..) my iPAQ seems to be getting slower in performance. Everytime I soft reset my PDA the Program Bar and Battery bar is not seen in my screen so I have to go to the settings and 'today' icon and to 'items' just to make it work. But most of the time it doesn't work well. Seldom it 'hang' and the screen is just stay still. Can anyone help me? THX

Sounds like it might be a dodgy install...try un-installing it and then re-installing it. Also have you installed the programs into main memory? Both programs wont work properly unless they are installed into main memory

OmegaOne has been notorious for releasing apps that slow down PPC's. I was a WeatherBar owner up until 2.0 where it slowed down my 4150 terribly. I have heard the same from Battery Pack owners.

My suggestion: get spb Pocket Plus.

ryanchan88,

I agree with JNGold for recommending spb Pocket Plus. Although it also slows down a little bit, not a great deal though.

As you can imagine, the today screen plug-ins are always resident in the memory, making the available memory to programs smaller.

Besides, in your case, Battery Pack's developer may have written some code which uses some APIs to occupy particular memory addresses, making other memory segmented. Just my guess.

Try something else is always a good attempt, if something bad happens.

Good luck.

i too had problems with battery pack pro, i would slow down things quite a bit. it would also be very slow when trying to make changes to my today plugins, like going start>settings>today>items it would take forever to get there. check my pda for a list of nice programs that actually work.

I've experimented a lot with Spb Pocket Plus to find out how much it slows down the PDA; I've found it very fast.

All in all: Spb Pocket Plus has almost no negative effect on the speed of your device.
