4700 Wireless with two networks?
Hi
I have a new 4700 and have a problem related to Wireless.
When I got the device out of the box, it connected to my wireless network with no problems straight off. However after attempting to connect to my laptop at work (where the subnet is different) I could no longer connect to the home Access Point.
Eventually a cold reset and reinstall of all software fixed this and I could connect to the laptop (which is running with an access point at 192.168.0.1).
All was fine, but when I got home again, I couldn't connect to the home network (where the access point is 192.168.16.1).
I set up the network (built-in) card manually to use a fixed IP address and my home access point/router as the gateway and all worked again.
But now, back at work, I can't see the laptop again and vxUtils shows me that the DHCP server seems to have been set to 192.168.16.2 (my Small Business Server at home) with a gateway of 192.168.16.1 (the router and access point at home).
I changed the network card to dynamic IP and tried releasing the lease and renewing it with vxIPConfig, in an attempt to get it to broadcast a DHCP request and pick up a correct IP address for the subnet at work, but it refuses to do anything.
I seem to be stuck with the device configured either for one network or the other, and at teh moment I sem to be at a point whetre the only way to connect to a new network is by a hard reset.
this can't be right as there wouldn't be a facility for connecting to other networks at all unless I should be able to move between them.
Am I missing a tricck here? Can anyone tell me how to make this thing get a new IP from any DHCP server that's available?
Using vxIPConfig, I can see that
