Which application is trying to access network?
Hi everyone,

I work in a hospital and click on the handy dandy ALL OFF button to shut off bluetooth and WIFI.

( I used to use the FLIGHT MODE on/off for quickly turning everything on /off, but that since disappeared -- but it would seem that this is a different issue)

Anyway, every now and then I get a pop-up saying CANNOT CONNECT TO NETWORK/INTERNET. From several posts here, it seems that an application is trying to call to the Internet.

How can I find out which application is doing this?
I close all my applications (nothing running when looking at Memory -> Running programs) and it still happens. It must be an active process running?

Activesync is not scheduled to do anything automatically. I have a variety of other apps, but as I said, nothing currently running.

Is there a way to figure out why this is happening - it's really annoying.

thanks
Mike

Sounds like your email client is trying to download mail. Go into Messaging, and turn off the "download mail ever x minutes" function.

In case you can't find this setting like I couldn't, it's in the account settings under one of the windows there is an Options button. I think this is the 3rd or 4th window into the Account settings.

Hi mikeypas, do you have any Today Screen plugins that display weather or news? If so they may be set up to update periodically. If that's the case, change their options to only connect via activesync.

Thanks everyone! My mail settings were indeed set to check every 15 minutes! Thanks a lot everyone, I didn't even think about that.
I haven't had a chance to try it out yet , but I'm pretty sure that this was the app in question!

cheers
