Backlight problems
Hi,
Often, when I turn the power off on the 4700, the machine stays on but the backlight goes off instead. It is set to turn off after 1 minute anyway, so it is not a major problem. However, more of a nuisance is when turning on, the backlight is completely off most times, and I have to prod around with the stylus and find the light slider. Tapping the screen or buttons does not turn the backlight on, despite it being set as that.

Any ideas?

Pete

Hi Pete, what you are actually doing when you think you are turning off your device is turning off the backlight. Pressing and holding the on/off button will either turn the back light off or back on if you press and hold it again. To turn your device off, just press the on/off button quickly - don't hold it for too long.

BTW - welcome to the forum.

Hello,

As was previously mentioned you are probably holding down the power button too long! When pressing down the power button and holding it all it will do is dim your backlight but not turn the power off. When dimmed holding the power button down again for a few seconds will turn the backlight back on. A quick press is only needed to turn the device off (standby).
