syn problem when using usb cable

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I bought a usb cable in order to
charge and synchronize with my hx4700 from the following link:
PCMicroStore / YOUNG MICRO HP iPAQ 19XX / 2XXX / 3XXX / 4XXX / 5XXX / 17XX SERIES - AC TRAVEL CHARGER / USB CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPTER / 2 IN 1 USB HOTSYNC + CHARGE CABLE

It can charge my hx4700 but the PC cannot detect hx4700.
How can I use it for data syn?
I use MS Activesync 4.5.

Thanks.

Some of these types of cables have a small toggle switch. You have to move the switch to change it from power mode to sync mode. Have you examined the cable closely to see if there's a switch anywhere on it?
