gps for ipaq 4700 q's

Ok so where to start...

I had a ipaq 3855 and used it as a pda...
well then I got a ipaq 3955 and navman sleeve (remember my $10 score??)
anyway I have used that sleeve and it works great...

however I moved to the ipaq 5555 which just came in. I bought it due to wifi and it works great.. however I want to use my ipaq, wifi and integrate into my home automation... I then found out i need wm5 for that part.... I then went up and bought a ipaq 4700

I have all my old stuff up on ebay right now but second guessing that....

What gps can I use with the ipaq 4700?
I searched here and people say they like their Belkin bluetooth GPS

I have concerns with this....

what other software does the belkin support?
I use a mess of other apps with the gps.......

how can I tell if these will work with the new ipaq?
if they wont I may have to sell the 4700 and keep the 5555 and that gps setup....

also are the bluetooth ones portable? do they take batteries and you can carry it around? i love that with my current setup...

please help as I only have 4 days left on my auctions!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks
Jeff

well, I just bought a globalsat 359 on ebay... I think, as long as you have bluetooth, which you do on the 4700, i have one, the 4700 should get the GPS information. Then you need a software program/ and maps to go with the receiver, then you have to make sure you have enough memory available in the 4705 to store the maps. I have a 2G SD card with about 1.2 G available, and a 2G CF card which i can empty if I need to.

You best bet is to read to GPS software thread in the GPS part of this forum and to go to gpspassion.com and search for appropriate threads on GPS software.

i use destinator with my 4700 and i bought a cheap bluetooth GPS from ebay. cant tell what brand it is but as long as it has NMEA or SRIF output you should be able to use it with most software.

I use a QSTARZ BT-Q1000P together with my hx 4700 and bluetooth. It works great with differnt gps programs! (Pathaway 4, Glopus, Navigon Street navigation and many others).
Great device, very senisitiv and you can store about 200.000 waypoints on it.

you can pick up a genuine HP BT GPS unit on ebay quite cheap.....
i now use tomtom6 and i have "upgraded" to WM6.1....... still works great. some have said that tomtom7 is very slow on 4700 with 6.1.....

I have used several bluetooth GPS receivers with no issue and also my Bluetooth dongle on the PC to talk to the 4700 and its been trouble free. For software I have been using Co-Pilot 7 and in the airplane APIC or Pocket FMS
