Since some month my SD-card (2GB) is sporadicly not recognized, when the hx 4700 is switched on, or after a warmstart.
Pushing SD card out and in again, or I make second warmstart, all is ok!

Different SD-card have the same effect.
I cann't believe, that the hx4711 cardreader is defect, because the problem comes only afte starting the pda.
Reformatting the SD card didn't cure the problem.
Could it be a problem of the timing during startup process with a certain file or program?
CF card works flawless.
Any hint is wellcome.

Hi Gerhard,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think this sounds like a hardware problem. It happened to one of my 4700's. It started just one in a while and then got to the point where the SD card slot didn't work at all. I think you can have it repaired for 40-50 pounds.

Hi Don,
I had the problem a year ago, but at that time there was a fault with the receptor of the SD-cardreader. It was repaired by HP within garantie. But now I am out of garantie. But this time it seems that the insertplug will firmly keep the card.
I still have the hope, that it is a timing problem during startup. Maybe there is a programm, which starts to quick?
At the next hardreset, I will not reload my backup, but to build the whole hx 4700 from the scratch?

Some weeks ago, I bought a new CF card with 2 GB and changed it with my old 1 GB card. The SD card with 2 GB remained the same, with which I had the troubles reported.
Since I use the new 2GB CF card all works fine without any sporatic problems anymore !!!!
