Can't update with broken reset button

Any Idea how to enter the bootloader mode when the soft reset button does not work?

So, you feel it physically depress and spring back, but it just does a whole lot of nothing? I guess that either the solder joints have gone bad, or perhaps something inside the switch has failed. I can't say for sure.

The device works normally otherwise, right? I want to make sure that something else isn't causing the problem, like the battery latch switch. (If the battery latch switch isn't engaged, the device will not turn on.)
