What / How did you test your Axim batteries?

That's life :o
Hey Zaniax,

May I ask what software and/or how you tested your Axim batteries?

I am using acbPowerMeter and constantly playing mp3 files in background.

My 1100mah battery has lasted about 2hours to get down to 0% remaining power. Average drain was 263mA and Total drain was about 525mAh. I noticed a huge dip where it went from 53% down to 14% from the 60minute to 90minute mark.

Does this line up with your batteries test results or is this battery getting tired in old age?

Thanks,
Dan

Something for me to look into in the future...

I believe if you were to connect the 2a charger to the hp with full brightness, max cpu usage, an sd or cf i/o device (like a gps unit or wifi adapter etc) and a nearly dead battery the current draw would likely exceed 1 amp. The 1 amp charger would work but the battery charging circuit would be limited to whatever the hp wasn't consuming. Therefore, the battery would take longer to charge or possibly even drawn from. An example of this is when I first bought my axim I was unable to find a 2a automobile (12v) charger and settled on a 1a charger. I was using a cf gps unit with the ax on full bright. After 5 or so hours of driving the battery was nearly discharged and the low battery warning was displayed! This was resolved with a 2a charger.
Sounds interesting. My first impression would have to be that I disagree though in regards to cradle charging. I have had a quick glimpse at Axim charging in a cradle and found that it hardly charged at all unless the X50v was switched off. Yes, I was using AC for charging. Can't remember whether I was charging two batteries at the same time or not then, so will have to do more thorough testing to be sure. I have not investigated your claim with the HX4700 yet, will do in the future and get back to you. :)

Just to update on this; :)
The HX4700 under W2003CE showed some kind of charge readout under acbpowermeter.
The HX4700 under WM5 showed zero!
The X50v under W2003CE showed zero!

The HX4700 shows ...1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 2.5 hours, 3 hours, ...
The X50v shows ...1 hour, 3 hours, 4 hours, 5 hours, ...
Weird how the HX4700 shows half hour blocks whereas the X50v doesn't , also strange about the jump from 1 hour to 3 hours!

Haven't tried the X50v under other ROMs yet.

I am using acbPowerMeter - too

On a daily basis I'm using the UpTime Meter from AE Software
